Engagement & couple sessions before the big day
A pre-wedding shoot is the relaxed session before the wedding rush — no schedule, no guests, just the two of you. Many couples use the photos for invitations, wedding websites, and reception slideshows.
Sessions run about 1–2 hours at one or two Montreal locations, usually in the soft light before sunset.
Where we can shoot
- Old Port of Montreal — cobblestone streets, waterfront, city lights after dark
- Mount Royal — the lookout, the paths, golden-hour portraits
- Botanical Garden — seasonal colour (best May–October)
- Lachine Canal — bridges, water, relaxed walks
- Your story's places — the café where you met, your neighbourhood — these make the most personal photos
What to wear
Bring two outfits: one dressy, one casual. Coordinated (not matching) colours photograph best — and if it's a South Asian pre-wedding shoot, one traditional outfit makes the set. I'll guide you through poses; you don't need modelling experience.
When to book
Book 2–4 months before your wedding so the photos are ready for invitations and décor. Summer and fall weekends fill first. Weekday evenings are quieter at popular spots — and often easier to schedule.
What's included
- 1–2 hour session at 1–2 locations
- Online gallery of edited high-resolution photos
- Printing rights for invitations and personal use
- Option to add the session to a wedding package
Common questions
Can we bring our dog / family?
Yes — pets and a quick family set are welcome. Just mention it when booking so I plan the time.
What if it rains?
We reschedule once at no charge, or pivot to a covered location like the Old Port's indoor spots.
Do we get the raw files?
You get fully edited high-resolution JPEGs with printing rights — the finished photographs, not the out-of-camera files.
Is this different from engagement photos?
It's the same idea — "pre-wedding" is simply what most South Asian couples call it. Whatever you call it, the session works the same way.
